Deadpool 2 Features a-ha’s “Take On Me” Like You’ve Never Heard It

I saw the new Deadpool 2 movie in Ybor. While the movie is good, what I can’t get out of my head is the incredibly fantastic re-imagining of the 80s iconic hit “Take On Me.” I don’t know if the slowed down piano version they use was made specifically for the movie or if it’s been floating out there for a while. But I can’t get enough of it. It’s a song I’ve played on Q105 and other stations hundreds of times in my career, but this new spin on it makes it sound brand new. I’m pretty sure it’s the vocals of the original a-ha lead singer. If not, it’s a perfect match. Enjoy.

And for you kids of the Bieber generation, hopefully you’ve heard the original. But if not…

UPDATE:

After a little research, it looks like this comes from a MTV Unplugged episode from 2017. In related news, MTV Unplugged is still apparently a thing.
