If you’ve listened to my show anytime during Florida Strawberry Festival week, you’ve no doubt heard me obsess over what is probably my favorite food ever. Funnel bacon on a stick (or “Funnel Fried Bacon” if you’ve seen it on The Cooking Channel TV show “Carnival Eats”) is the creation of “Mama Jane” Harris fromContinue reading “Funnel Bacon on a Stick at the Florida Strawberry Festival”
Sunday Bloody Sunday Where The Streets Have No Name Pride (In The Name Of Love) Bullet The Blue Sky One With Or Without You I don’t think I’ve ever owned a U2 album. I don’t have any U2 songs on my phone. But if they’re within a couple hours drive, I’ll never miss them inContinue reading “U2 In Tampa at Raymond James Stadium: Summer 2017”
Miranda Lambert posted the dates this morning for her “Livin’ Like Hippies” world tour that kicks off in January. While there’s no Tampa date, at least yet, it’s just a short drive to Orlando. And that’s where Miranda will be January 19, 2018. After that concert, she heads to Atlanta before the tour moves toContinue reading “New Miranda Lambert Florida Concert Tour Date Announced”

With the big Patriots/Bucs Thursday Night Football nationally televised game coming up next week, figured I’d dig out the pictures from their preseason game 5 years ago at Raymond James Stadium. It’s a moment I’ll never forget. Brad Paisley took time during his 2016 concert in Tampa to remember Dave McKay. Dave left us far too soon. But the one thing I always say when listeners ask me about Dave is I’m sure there were few things left to check off his bucket list.
When Hurricane Irma forced me to evacuate, instead of fighting traffic on I-75, I booked a flight home to see family in Maine for a few days. It was a good call. It was sunny and temps were in the low 70s. I got to enjoy a couple lobster rolls and didn’t have to worryContinue reading “My Return To Maine Radio Lasts About 60 Seconds”
While I was waiting for my burger before a concert at the Five Guys near the Amphitheatre, I took a minute to look through the bulletin board where customers post notes of thanks. That’s when I spotted one index card that raised an eyebrow.
Well ya learn something new every day. If you’re like me and just always assumed sharks only live in salt water, this story might mess you up a little. There are sharks in the Hillsborough River. And no, nothing is wrong. It apparently happens. And yup, they can grow to 8 or 9 feet!
